Message Marcel springs are normally only used in street discs. This allows a longer engagement, but decreases the attachment area of the disc and can cause the disc to de-face or break off from the limited rivet attachment. For a more durable disc we have removed the Marcel spring from our street disc so it can be glued and riveted for a larger surface area for attachment. We have done this and we have been able to keep a reasonable engagement length by changing the shape of the pivot area on the casting :-)

For the 5 puck we use an aluminum disc that is more forgiving by offering some flex and a completely flat CNC machined part. Because of the materials we use and the extremely true parts the puck clutch has never felt so good. Dropping down to 5 pads also offers a better engagement and holds more power.
We are extremely pleased with the new product.
